History, naturally

I spent a whole day on Friday wandering though the Natural History Museum. This is an old-school museum; specimen upon specimen in row after row of cabinets in salon after salon. I know that modern curatorship is about the experience and narrative, but there's no substitute for quantity.

The absolute highlight of the collection is the Venus of Willendorf:



As far as I know, it's the oldest statue in the world...
